Web Fundamentals – TryHackMe – July 2023

The aim of this path was to learn how to attack web applications. To successfully attack and exploit web applications, I needed to understand how they work. The first section (Web Fundamentals) gave me all the pre-requisite knowledge on this.

The second section (Security Tools) focuses on learning how to use Industry Standard tools to interact with my targets.

The third section (Vulnerabilities) covers various vulnerabilities found in web applications today. This section will go over root causes of these vulnerabilities and gave me hands on experience on exploiting them.

After I completed this path, I am now able to:

  • understand how web applications work
  • utilize industry standard tools when attacking web applications
  • explain and exploit common web vulnerabilities
  • apply this knowledge to other targets such as a professional web applications security assessment

Prerequisites
I needed a basic understanding of how web applications work to complete this. I was successful in completing the Pre-Security, as listed in my certifications list.
